Cupping therapy is an alternative therapeutic method that has been popular in China since around 1000 B.C. Today, cupping has found its place in the contemporary world of healthcare. MediCupping, which is a vacuum manual therapy, reaches deeper into the soft tissue than traditional cupping and can also work to pull inflammation and toxins toward the surface so that the skin and lymphatic system can readily eliminate them.
One of the most amazing aspects of this technique is the "separation" that the suction produces in tissue layers. This enables water absorption and renewed blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue, which is invaluable in pre- and post-surgery treatments. It also decreases or relieves pain and inflammation from injury or chronic conditions, relieves deep muscular issues and reduces muscle spasms, and it enhances any athletic training program to improve performance.
Jin Shin Jyutsu®
Jin Shin Jyutsu® is the art of releasing tensions which are the causes for various symptoms in the body. Our bodies contain several energy pathways that feed life into all of our cells. When one or more of these paths become blocked, this damming effect may lead to discomfort or even pain. This blockage or stagnation will not only disrupt the local area, but will continue and dis-harmonize the complete path of the energy flow.
Through Jin Shin Jyutsu® our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that we are endowed with the ability to harmonize and balance ourselves (in rhythm with the universe) physically, mentally and spiritually.
In a Jin Shin Jyutsu® treatment, the practitioner's hands become the wonderful tools for "jumper cabling" the energy circuits of the body.
Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage
Swedish massage is the most common and best type of massage known in the West. It involves the use of hands, forearms, or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movements of the joints may also be part of the massage.
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).
With chronic muscle tension or injury, there may be adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.
Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, Anne uses massage cream and often direct deep pressure. Muscles must be relaxed in order to reach the deeper musculature.
